Hmm, interesting. We're heading to Malaysia from Thailand tomorrow and I just received a quote of over $15000 from a freight agent ( a motofreight.com referral in Kuala Lumpur).

They say the bike has to go via truck to Singapore and then to New Zealand on Singapore Airlines.

Finding it very difficult to get some shipper that actually has shipped a bike!! I'll swing by MASKARGO when I get there next week.

Anyone have other suggestions?

Malaysia to aus

i have just come in the opposite direction

I have the knowledge you need haha

if you want to arrange a Skype call so that I am help you private message me

to help you get started, any parts or tyres you need sort out with touratech in Penang. it's so hard to get even tubes in Indonesia. give them a few days to source them.

also for shipping, mr lim in Penang is very trust worthy and will ship your bike to belawan Sumatra for us$300. he is the only guy that does it so don't bother researching others. trust me.

and contact Robbie (gpexpert@gmail.com) to let him know you are coming through indo. he will help you more than you will ever know possible haha. parts, repairs, translator, routes, dinner, he's got you covered

Indonesia takes a lot of time though. like a month at least by the time you get your hands on your bike in Darwin. If you don't have time fly maskargo from KL to anywhere you want in aus, and then use 'bikes abroad' to ship to Auckland.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
