GRIMALDI has new and definitely more confortable ships. Nevertheless, the CTN, especially the old ship "Habib", is a kind of myth for the adventurous travellers. The costs are more or less the same. The trip takes more or less 20 hours with the Habib and some 17 hours with the GRIMALDI.
So, at the end, the choice is up to you.
No particular tips. Both Morocco and Tunisia are easy countries to visit (of course the standard of roads, cleaning, etc. is not west european or north american). Tunisia is maybe a little more developed but Morocco is definitely more interesting and beautiful.
