Europe to Egypt

Dear,

I am planning to drive from Poland to Ethiopia in spring '19.
Could anyone advise the easiest way to get from Europe to Egypt?
Is there any direct ferry or perhaps from Turkey to Lebanon and further down through Israel to Sinai?

Can't find reliable info on the web.

plan to travel in Jan19

Hello all!
I also planned to travel at that time but now things have changed I have to leave already in January 2019. After searching in the Forum without any result I started to write to shipping agencies.
My plan was to go via Israel to Egypt, but Motorcycles are banned from Sinai (beginning of Feb 2018) and so the only option seem to be to go from Europe to Egypt.
The only quote I got so far is from Salerno (Italy - south of Naples) to Ashdod in Israel (7 day cruise; around € 1.000 on a freight carrier ship) but this is no option anymore.
Any help / information is highly appreciated!
Tom

Have they stopped operating this route?

Piraeus - Alexandria with Grimaldi is no problem.
Some friends just freighted their car across.
Took 11 days.
But you yourself have to fly, passengers can’t enter Egypt via ship.

You can't drive through Turkey to Egypt at present unless you have the means to get through Iraq or Syria.

I'm planning Italy - Israel - Jordan - Egypt or Sudan

There are car ferries from Turkey (Tasucu) to Lebanon (Tripoli): https://ferries-turkey.com/ferry-rou...-en.html#start

There is also a ferry from Jordan to Egypt, but it terminates north of Sharm el Sheikh - technically still Sinai, so it's an open question if you can ride along the coastal road where all the touristy stuff is (presumably well protected) and the moto ban applies only to the Taba-Suez part. I guess the Lebanon-Israel land border is currently open, but of course that's always subject to rapid change.

Honestly, I think freight from Piraeus is the most reliable option.

The Lebanon - Israel border is firmly and reliably shut, and has been so since at least 1973. So I doubt it will be subject to any rapid change.

People have gone from Lebanon to Israel via Jordan successfully in the past - I am not sure if this route is still available.

However, one word of warning - some countries in the Middle East will refuse you entry is you have an Israeli stamp in your passport or an exit stamp from, say, somewhere in Jordan where the only place to go afterwards is to Israel.

Lebanon has no border with Jordan, the route necessitates passing through Syria. Not impossible, but I imagine most people would avoid it at present.

Getting a motorbike (and I presume a car) from Egypt to Europe via RoRo ship is reasonably straightforward. I did it northwards Alexandria to Pireaus in 2016 for $900 - see the HU shipping database for the info - and a friend of mine did it southbound about 3 months ago.

I can recommend the agent CFD Logistics in Alexandria and Neptune Shipping in Piraeus.
