Air transport from Korea to Vancouver

I've been digging and emailing trying to find the best way to have my bike xt600 transported from Russia to Vancouver, to fly is just impossible unless you are Mr McGregger, the best option I've come up with, ferry to South Korea then fly from there with your bike, it's still not easy as you need to find a shipping agent then it's a right f--k on. This is what I've managed to come up with.

Subject: Shipping a motorbike

Dear Graham,

Please refer to airfreight from ICN to YVR(VANCOUVER) and local charges.

Airfreight from ICN to YVR(VANCOUVER) and local charges
AIR FREIGHT
USD3.37/KG(+100K)
FUEL SURCHARGE
USD0.03/KG
HANDLING CHARGE
USD50.00
AIRPORT CHARGE
USD18.00
PICK-UP CHARGE
AT COST
DOCUMENTATION FEE
USD50.00
CUSTOMS CLEARANCE FEE
MIN USD30.00 OR 0.0015 OF INVOICE VALUE
ACI FEE
USD2.00
THC
USD0.04/KG

1. Customs clearance at YVR
We only can send your goods at YVR airport, not your door. So, you have to make import customs clearance directly with Canadian Customhouse and have to call to Canadian Customhouse directly. If it is impossible to make a customs clearance with Canadian Customhouse at Calgary, you have to send your suitcase by courier service as DHL or Fedex.

2.Make document.
I have to make shipping document to make customs clearance at Korean. So, I need to know information as below.
(1)Consignee in Calgary

Please let me know who will be the receiver on documents. We have to issue commercial invoice and packing list as well as AWB. We have to mention the consignee/receiver on these documents.

Also, we need to know the full address and phone number of the consignee/receiver.
(2) Passport Copy
You are going to be mentioned as “Shipper” on the documents. Because You are an individual person, not a company, we need the show ID to the customs office to arrange a customs clearance. However, because you are a foreigner, we need a copy of your passport. Please scan it and send it to us.
(3) Details and Unit Prices
I need the full details of your personal goods and unit prices. The unit prices are the current value of your goods, not brand new prices. Even if your goods are used ones, if you mention the brand new prices, you may have to pay taxes in Toronto. Please let me know
-Names of personal goods
-Quantities
-Unit prices
FYI, please find attached sample commercial invoice for your reference. Please refer second pages on excel sheet and mention on yellow space of excel sheet.

3. Departing Date
Departing date from Incheon airport is based on arrival date in Incheon Airport(ICN). If you cannot deliver your goods at ICN warehouse by yourselves. I can pick up your goods. If you want me to pick up your goods, please let me know pick-up point.

4. Payment
You have to pay all the costs to us before shipping.

5. Fuel in your motorbike
You have to remove fuel in your motorbike. If you didn’t remove fuel in your motorbike, your goods will be turned out as dangerous shipment. If so, the above-mentioned rate which valid only general goods will be increased as dangerous cargo regulation. Please take a note of it.

This is the agent you need to make contact on arrival in South Korea

To break it down in plan English for me to fly my Yamaha xt600 with all charges is $838 but you will need to add a few kg for shipping box and touring equipment,
Then to fly your self is another $1100.
I'll be in South Korea August so I'll post how it went then

Ewan McGregor is my friend, he is super nice, I helped him when he got stuck Utah's desert. http://www.missrider.com/

There is a link on this forum from Scott that has all sorts of information for shipping bike from Russia. I lost the link and cannot find it, but the information is very nice and has contact phone numbers.

The only claim to fame I can put down is Robson green, i new him when he lived in Northumberland,,, not that well,,,,I did some work for him, I don't think he can help me with my adventure not that I would want him to.
I think you could be right he seems like a nice fella, I stopped to help a few bikers in need of some help, one was a brake problem other a snapped cable and some others that I can't remember to much about, but I didn't feel the need to swap numbers or keep in touch, mind you they could have been famous I'm not sure,,,,
