Hi,
meet a german in Chile two years ago with the same problem as yours. Overdue of almost a year. He found himself a ver tiny bordercrossing to Argentina. The costumers had no clue about anything and he discussed his way through. Took him less than an hour to get through to Argentina and continued to the next bordercross to get an official stamp in his papers to take his bike back to Germany. Of course he eas half spanish which made it easier for him. But this works für you probably too.
Good luck!
Jan
