Peru Custum Issue

After a six mounth trip around South America in 2002, I left my bike in Lima, planning on returning to finish my trip one day. That day has come, the bike has been serviced by the Yamaha Dealer(it's a tenere offcourse) there, and is ready for the new adventure. The only thing left is the custum issue. The temperary 3 mounth importpermit I got in 2002 has been long expired. I've been trying through embassy's and custumbrokers to solve the issue without any succes so far.
All tips and ideas are welcome.

Thanks in advance,

Mills

Last time in Peru my bike permission stopped one month short of my personal permission, so officially my bike overstayed. Leaving for Ecuador (Macará crossing) the Peruvian jefe just sighed when he noticed, gave me a look to say 'thanks, now I have to fill in *another* form', and that was that. No drama.

With one month, I would also try my luck at the border, but two years overdue....

Hi,

meet a german in Chile two years ago with the same problem as yours. Overdue of almost a year. He found himself a ver tiny bordercrossing to Argentina. The costumers had no clue about anything and he discussed his way through. Took him less than an hour to get through to Argentina and continued to the next bordercross to get an official stamp in his papers to take his bike back to Germany. Of course he eas half spanish which made it easier for him. But this works für you probably too.

Good luck!

Jan
