Insurance valid in Morocco

My insurance is due for remewal very soon, and I'm visiting Morocco in October. I haven't been able to find a company that includes Morocco in its cover (most are just for mainland Europe). Any suggestions?

Try Carole Nash - I din't need Morocco, but they did other odd ones with no problem and were very helpful - get them to requote needing Morocco, as it may not be the cheapest quote but could still be available. I got a number of places which are probably much worse - including Bosnia, Moldova, Romania, Turkey, etc.

As it happens, I've been sorting this out for myself over the last couple of days. In previous years I found that getting cover was not the problem, but getting a clear statement of this for border officials is. The demise of the "Green Card" has caused a few problems.

Last year I bought fully comp cover from Carole Nash for Morocco, this cost £38 on top of my normal policy (this for an XR600 plus all my gear). However, nowhere on my docs was the word "Morocco" mentioned. As you might imagine, the passage into Morocco was not straghtforward. So, this year I've been trying to get something like a green card made up.

Carole Nash have added a section to the certificate this year, which says in English, French, German and Spanish that I have cover for Maroc.

Talk to Vicky in customer services and she will sort you out.

Buying third party insurance at the border costs €59 for 10 days or €80 for a month. See thread below for details

Thanks for the replies, guys. Carole Nash came good in the end. They found me cover with Royal Sun Alliance, and after a prompt, even managed to include Morocco on the 'green card' section on the back of the insurance certificate, so hopefully that will staisfy the officials at the border on entering Morocco.

Cheers

Are you talking about bikes that are registered in the UK? we have tried almost every company in the UK including Carol Nash trying to get 3rd party Green card insurance on our Australian registered bikes but no one would help at all.

For non-EU bikes you get the Green Card from the ADAC in Germany.

Mine's a UK registered bike - fully comp in Morocco for the duration of the trip only, for a premium uplift of about £24. Fully comp in Europe for the complete year. Royal Sun Alliance through Carole Nash.
