Dutch / German bike

Hi there,

Need some help here.....
Bought 2 bikes - 1 in Holland and 1 in Germany.
Am a Dutch citizen with Dutch passport.
Lives in USA.
Not registered at any Dutch cities.
How to transfer the title of the Dutch plated bike to my name?
And get it insured?
How to transfer the German plated bike to a Dutch plate and transfer and register the bike on my name?
And can legally ride the bikes.
Plan to store the bikes in Holland for future rides in Europe and Africa.

Thankful for this wonderful community.

Hing

So you are dutch and living in the USA now? And the Dutch / Germans bikes are in the USA too?

I don't really understand, sorry.

If the German bike is in the Netherlands you have to go to the rdw I believe. They will check the bike and if in order they will you the paperwork / plates.

You should contact the rdw about this question, because they will know for sure what is possible and what not and they are the only ones who can register your bike in the end.

Thanks Blommetje,
Understand that this is complicated.
I am confused as well....
The Dutch bike is in Holland
The German bike is in Germany and I would like to transfer the bike to Holland.
Have emailed RDW, waiting for reply.
Both bikes will be kept in Holand.

Thanks!
Hing

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
