Applying for India Visa in Islamabad! all you need to know!

Applying for India Visa in Islamabad!

Hi guys, just got my India Visa in Islamabad and I want to share my experience what documents are required! (at least for German Passport)
  • first you have to fill the Online Visa Application on:
  • upload your Photo (file size and pixel size as required)
  • I have done this already 1 month before in Iran when I had a good Wifi
  • connection!
  • print out 2 times in A4 format and Sign it!
  • 1 copy of your Passport A4
  • 1 copy of your Pakistan Visa with entry stamp! A4
  • 1 copy of you national ID card A4
  • 1 cover letter; short letter why you want to Visit India, write down some places, City's you might be visiting and pick some names of Hotels by Internet where you will stay. No need to stay there of do any reservation. They will not check it.
  • 1 copy of your proof of health insurance A4
  • 1 copy of your international certificates of vaccination that shows you have a Polio vaccination not older then 1 year! A4
  • Bank statement, that you have enough money for your Visit
with all this documents you can go to Gerrys FedEX here in Islamabad.
They are open 9:00 am till 12:00 am for Visa application.
I went there at 8:30 am when they open the door to be one of the first. That was a good decide!

Note: to enter the building where Gerrys FedEx is there are very strict rules what is not allowed to bring in the office / building!
  • no backpack allowed
  • no mobile phone allowed
  • no weapons, knifes
  • no matches or lighter
  • no helmet
  • there is also a body check
if they find anything which is not allowed they will store it for you, you will get a sheet of paper with a number from them. With this paper you will get your belongings back when leaving.

Inside you will get a number from the lady at the desk and then you can go with the elevator on floor 4. When your number shows up or they call your number you can go to the nice and helpful lady and hand her all your documents over. After she has check everting, they need your E-Mail address and a local telephone number where they can contact you. If you don´t have a local Simmcard you can give them the Telephone number of your Hotel. I stayed in the nice “MovenStay” Hotel. Not very far from Gerrys FedEx. If everything is OK then you have to pay your Visa fee and handling charge for Gerrys! The coast for India Visa is know: 11.200 PKR!
US $ 106,- + US $ 5,- for Service charge! Take care of the bill you need it to get you passport back!

No its time to wait. I my case it took 7 working days. When you get the call or an Email that your Visa has arrived from India High Commission you can go to Gerrys this time an 3.th floor to pick your Passport. Don´t forget your bill and you need also a copy of your national ID Card. (A4)

When you get your passport with the Visa back don´t forget to smile. :-)

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
