Uk to Hungary/Romania/Bulgaria July/Aug 2013
I'm likely heading off from kent to Europe for summer hols. I'm a teacher so window of opportunity not flexible. Can leave 22 -23ish July and return towards end of Aug.
Looking to travel on my 650 Alp and camp (odd cheap hotel etc Ok), drinking , trying to avoid worst of the rain and , failing to remember all the local language but still trying! Heading through Benelux/Germany to Czech rep. and Slovakia. Then into Hungary/Romania/Bulgaria check out transylvania, black sea etc. Then on return trip via serbia/croatia/slovenia into Northern italy for Alps, switz and home!
Looking for anyone going that way or meet en route, maybe even another teacher. Hoping to do some light trail riding, but mostly going to be using Mr. Macadam I suspect - avoiding worst potholes in Romania.
If anyone knows biker friendly campsites on the way I would be grateful for info.
Cheers

If your trip will include Turkey, better to participate some bikers festival in different cities during summer months..Free camping, amusement, chat and çay with local and int. friendly bikers available..WARNING...: Gas is most expensive here..
Wish you all the best.

Oohh...That sounds tempting...And I'm collecting an XL650 on Friday.....And I'm only over the bridge in Essex......And I really fancy the Serbia/Croatia area.
PM Me if you feel like discussing the trip in detail, I'm very interested.

hi Matan
I am in Romania (Brasov) at the moment. I am planning to get on the road some time next week. If you get here before that, you are welcome to stay at my place. We could do the transfagarasan and/or transalpina together, at least.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
