Question UK - Europe - Africa 2016

Hi,

Appreciate it may be early to be posting for a trip in 2016 however just wanting to gauge interest / ideas etc.

The Trip; (Options currently being investigated)

Round Trip: UK - Europe / Africa (Full Circle East / West) - UK
(Alternatively instead of returning to UK head East through Asia aiming for Australia)

One way: UK - Europe - Africa - Ship bike back to UK
(Alternatively instead of shipping back to UK ship to Argentina and head up West Coast of South / Central America)

Potential start date: April / May 2016 (Flexible)

Time line: Until the money runs out or the fun stops!

Me:
37 year old Scotsman who is easy to get along with enjoying most sports and up for trying almost anything.
Inexperienced rider who is sitting Motorcycle test this month!

The Bike:
Honda CRF250L - Looking to travel at an easy pace as there is not much point doing an epic trip if you miss half of it riding too fast!

If I sound like someone you could travel with or if the trips sound like your kind of thing it would be great to hear from you,

Thanks

some friends and I am taking a Land rover Discovery down to The Gambia and back at the end of March
We leave Scotland on the 25th of March catch the ferry to Spain from Portsmouth on the 26th head down to Gib 27/28th and then Marrakesh Tiznet (via the tinzi-test over the atlas) Camp Bedouin north of Layonne, then head for the Border after that its Mauri then Senegal and the Gambia on or around the 9/10th of April.

in the process we are supporting a charity that helps primary children and a maternity clinic in and around Banjul.

Hi,

I'm 26years old from Belgium. I have done some 1month-trips with the motorbike. One of france-spain-portugal and just last month I did england-scotland-ireland-wales.

I'm also thinking of a big trip of 6-12months. Maybe we should get in contact: https://www.facebook.com/jonathan.matthys.3

I'm also debating a trip, not sure whether to head east all the way round to New York or to head south. I could probably take 3 months, maybe 4, dependent on funds, and would intend to camp as much as possible. Is this the time frame you all are thinking?

I'm 25, temporarily in Manchester with an XT660 Tenere, and keen to do some greenlaning in the north/northwest through the winter if anyone else is, before getting going on a real trip next year. I'm interested!

UK-South Africa

Hi Guys,
I could be up for riding from UK to South Africa to arrive about Christmas 2016. Setting off can be anytime, and I fancy Europe...first maybe?
I am a (young) 55yo very experienced road rider with loads of European experience (38 years), but none outside Europe. So planning is daunting and company would be a good thing.
Bike size not an issue....a 250 is good enough to see the world... rather than pass it by......

Good to know im not the only one planing, and i agree it is daunting.
Especially what route to take east or west? I personally would prefer to start in egypt but getting there seems a bit of an issue.
Have you guys had any thoughts? Maybe a different route all toghether.
