Where would the company ship the bikes from?
Shipping is from Tbilisi.

I think I won't make it to Pamir this year. Due to an injury I will stay at least 4-6 weeks in Tbilisi.

FWIW early June I met a german in Fairy Tail canyon in kyrgyzstan and he made it there on his GSA riding via Verkhny Lars. He did have a multi entry visa and invitation but otherwise it was a smooth sailing. Cards do not work so you have to account for that.

I went through Verkhniy Lars on 18th? without any issues, except for spending time to fill TIP paperwork 3 times (hint: bring blue pen black doesn't cut it). And long traffic jam on the border.

Now no western card will work in russia so you have to bring cash.

Hey Cyclopathic, that's awesome, congrats! Are you sticking around Russia or moving on to the stans? As an American I am just personally not comfortable trying to go through Russia right now, so I'm here in Tbilisi trying to get the bike into Azerbaijan.

I was en-route to central asia so was through in 2 days. Don't worry as an american you wouldn't have any issues; at least I didn't besides normal things like having to fill out my custom's paperwork 3 times. People are friendly at least most of them and weren't confrontational by any means. This was the second time I had crossed russia; first time in June on the way from KZ to Norway.

As for AZ they're closed 'till Sept 1st.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
