Trans America Trail in May 2020

Hi, I'm planning on riding the Trans America Trail west from Iowa in May. I'm riding a 350cc Suzuki and plan on camping for most nights. Let me know if you want to join in.

I've been doing a round the world trip for the last year and a half but have been stuck here in Turkey for 6 weeks. Looks like I'll have to come back to the United States a few years earlier than I planned because all the borders are closed for Covid-19.

I'm thinking about doing a tour of as much dirt as possible across the United States. I'll probably buy another WR250R and look into camping as much as possible in the States and later in the year probably go back down through Mexico again. Love to join up on the trail! I love in Oklahoma

I don't get on here much. If you want let's stay in touch on Instagram

Just beware that until Stay Home order is lifted the gates, campgrounds, hotels and restaurants will stay closed.

Hi Nate, thats too bad about your trip. That sounds good about riding all dirt in the U.S.

I almost bought a WR250R. I really like how those are fuel injected and street legal. I ended up getting a good deal on a DRZ400 and rode it 500 miles home yesterday after I bought it. Note to self, do not ride a dirt bike 500 miles in one day on the highway!

What is your email? I dont do Instagram

TAT

Is anyone still looking for someone to join for this ride. I need a place to go and would love this or the Continental divide trail from Denver south to Mexico border.

Hey Larry, I still have not left yet.

I've got everything packed and ready to go. I'm waiting on some boots and a gps to arrive.

Would you be interested in meeting in Omaha and finding some scenic gravel Southwest to merge with the Trans America Trail?

What kind of bike do you have?

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
