Touring Africa

Hi
I am planning on a trip from Morocco to South Africa on a Motorbike no dates planned as waiting for places to open up after the virus. It would be great to share the memories with a buddy. if you are interested let me know. Thanks Kev.

Lots of us are keeping an eye out, but with the Delta variant making things worse and already closed borders. I don't think many will try to make the journey this year.

Hi Kev,
I was hoping to do it over this winter originally, but with the pandemic and my finances, that isn't going to happen!

Hopefully in a couple of years time it will be possible for me.

I can envisage a hoard of overlanders eagerly heading to Africa as soon as enough borders are open to make it possible!

Keep us updated on your plans.

Cheers, Jack.

I'm planning the same. No date or duration set yet. Main issues seem to be the Nigerian Visa problem and getting medical insurance of any kind due to the UK FCO amber and red country restrictions. Any suggestions welcome........

There are a couple that seem to be capable of covering longer motorcycle trips at the moment - they are mentioned in this thread.

Hi, I am from Germany and am also planning to do a trip to South Africa, probably down the eastern route since my French is zero. Last year I sold my Honda NC750x which I had used for some trips through Europe to buy a lighter offroad bike this year. Currently looking at a Honda CRF300 Rally. It would be really nice to hook up with fellow travellers since although I have travelled quite a lot this is new territory for me and doing it all alone scares me a tiny little bit. I am thinking about leaving end of summer this year, 2022.

Hi travellers!
My name is Kike Piña, mototraveller from Chile (@kikepinar). I'm looking for a motopartner to travel across Africa. I'll start in Athens, Greece around June 2022, with unlimited time and about 5000USD. I am an easy-going person with simple plans who loves camping and cooking. I keep the good vibes going even in difficult situations!
I rarely plan my trips but I am open to route proposals. I have already crossed the Americas, Asia, Europe and Eastern Europe by motorcycle for the last 5 years.

You don't need to be an expert to come with me. I can help you with buying a motorcycle in Europe, bringing it to Athens and reselling it after the trip.
If you wanna join, send me a message!
