South America October-December 2017

Hi there,

I finally got the confirmation from my boss that I can take 3 month off work starting from October 2017 to fulfil my dream and riding across South America

No detailed plans yet, trip should be as flexible as possible.
Rough plan is to ship the bike to Cartagena/Colombia and ride to Ushuaia/Argentinia and fly back home from there.

I´m 39 years from Stuttgart/Germany, have travel experience and would describe myself open, flexibel and a easy person to get along with. I like to ride on-road and off-road, don´t mind a rest day at a nice place but also can do long days of riding if necessary. Sleeping in hotels and camping is fine for me and my bike is a KTM Adventure 1190 R.

Would be great if someone would like to join me for the trip or parts of it. Also sharing a container for shipping the bike would be good.

Looking forward to hear from you!

Cheers,
Chris

Hi Guys,
my plans have changed slightly. I will start and end my trip from Valparaiso/Chile because it seems to be the easiest and cheapest way for the bike transport. The outbound shipping will be in a private organised 20´container which can carry 8-10 bikes. Costs are roughly 4000€ in total and we are already 5 guys. Departure port is likely to be Hamburg.
If someone is interested let me know.
Chris

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
