Pamir highway early summer 2022

Dear all
I plan to have a trip along the pamir highway in late spring, early summer 2022 with my motorbike and I would like to have someone to accompanie me. Sometimes a third hand or a second person are really helpfull in case if something unplanned happens - and unplanned things always happen :-)
I am born 1962, have 160.000 km of motorbike experiance, have studied 3 times and work as an IT-projectmanager for europeanwide rail-related IT-projects for the European commission.
I usually spent one month of my vacation on my motorbike (currently a BMW R 1250 GS Adventure) to visit regions where all-inclusive tourists never come to. I have visited until now 24 European countries but have never ridden a bike outside Europe. My equippment is overcomplete - if you need the one or the other part - chances are good that I can help. I will also have a sattelite telephone with me.

My trip will start and end in Bishkek - capital of Kirgistan. A transport company will transport my bike to Bishkek and back and I will arrive by plane. I would like to reach the region over land but unfortunately I do not have so much vacation. The whole trip will take one month (30 - 32 days). Generally I would like to ride south, cross into Tadschikistan, take the variant of the M41 along the Whakan corridor, reach Dushanbe (capital of Tadschikistan) and then it depends on how much time is left because if so we could also visit some famous silk road towns like Samarkand in Usbekistan. Overall: the precise route we plan to ride at the end will be discussed if we agree to ride together.

Comradship is important to me. The exact date is currently not fixed as I can be flexible and I can consider your wishes. I just have to know the exact starting date 2 - 3 months ahead.
This trip is a thing I have been dreaming about since I was a child.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
