Pakistan - China - Kyrgyzstan, August/September 2016, anyone keen to join?

Hi,

My partner and I are riding a couple of little Honda Posties around Asia and are looking to cross China from Pakistan to Kyrgyzstan around late August or early September 2016. Are there any people out there looking to cross around the same time? We are flexible with dates - currently in Nepal but planning to spend time in northern India and Pakistan before we head across. I've been in touch with a few companies. Cheapest seems to be Kashgar New Land International Travel and the more the merrier for the bank accounts and hopefully the trip too! Look forward to hearing from anyone keen

Hi Aamir,

Thanks for the message however I've re-looked at our dates and am now thinking that early September may be a better time for us to cross (to give us time to do what we want to before then). Also, I've heard that the weather starts to improve in September and there are better views of the mountains and less chance of landslides blocking road access etc. So yes, we might have to make it a bit later. But if you're still keen then that's great and we would love to have you join us. The total price would be shared between the final number of people going. I have been quoted the following in USD:
2 riders: $2,800
3 riders: $3,800 ($1,266 each)
4 riders: $4,600($1,150 each)
5 riders $5,600 ($1,120 each)
6 riders:$6,400 ($1,066 each)

This includes accomodation and is for 4 days - 3 days riding and one in Kashgar to get drivers license and number plate. So the price doesn't decrease that much with additional people - it's still very pricey.

I'm actually moving this post into the regional forum area as I think more people look at that area of the site. So any updates I will post on that one instead. But you can reply to me here.

Thanks,
Celia and Tig

Hi there!

We are also planning to cross China from Pakistan to Kyrgyzstan, late August to mid September (flexible dates...) and looking to join a group or make a new one. Thanks Celia and Tig for your previous reply ;-)
Aamir, are you still looking for a group?

Thanks!

Hi Celia and Tig!

Just posted in the other thread that you've also seen.

http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...629#post544198

Just hit a major kink in plans and am potentially looking to re-route. Will need to make the call in 3-5 days. Have you guys locked in a plan yet?

Ps don't plan on getting your Chinese visas in Pakistan!!

Hi everybody,

We finally got the Iran visa, so we are going south, not to China.
Sorry for inconvenience!

Best wishes and safe driving/riding!

Sergi

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
