Morocco road trip April-May

I'm planning on heading down through France and Spain to Morocco. I'm not going to be doing any serious off-road stuff, just tarmac roads and the odd track, but no dunes etc. I'm riding a V Strom 650, planning on going to Chefchaouen, Fes, Merzouga, Dades and Torda Gorges, Ouarzazate, and High Atlas regions. Hopefully leaving around 15th April, taking a week to go through France and Spain, then two weeks around Morocco, and another week coming back up towards the UK again. Anyone who is going that way is welcome to join in, or I'm happy to meet up with anyone else who is going around that time.

Hi,
Around 25 april I start my trip from Rotterdam to Dakar. I take the ferry from Barcelona to Tanger. In Marocco I will do almost the same route. I also have for this trip a V Strom 650. We could meet in Barcelona around 30th april or 2-3 may in Tanger. I you prefer somewhere else, let me know. My email. Djinsital@gmail.com

So, it looks like two V Strom 650's heading for Tangier on the 28th April via the boat from Barcelona and then going around Morocco for approx 14 days so if anyone fancies joining us here's the route map

https://goo.gl/maps/cnpjB6NUBcs

It's going to be mainly paved roads but passing through some great scenery.

I could be up for that, although I won't have time for the full 14 days in morocco, I can return alone when my time is up. I'll be riding a tiger 800, so no dunes, although I would like to get off the tarmac now and then...

I live in Barcelona, so the boat from there is ideal for me.

No, I didn't end up doing it due to unforseen stuff that happened but I managed to get to the Picos de Europa and the Pyrenees a few weeks ago. The area around the Picos was practically deserted with very few vehicles to be seen so I had the roads to myself. I expected to see lots of bikers there but the place was empty and sometimes I would ride for an hour or so and not see another vehicle. I met up with another forum member Bandit GS who was very helpful with advice etc. I rode back along the Spanish side of the Pyrenees to the Med and then back to the UK via the French Alps. I'm planning to go to Croatia, Albania, Greece, and Turkey, leaving early this month so if anyone fancies joining, send me a PM.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
