But that is for me.
You do whatever you want. I do not care

That is a absolutely solid reason to handle it that way!
If we look at the history here at Hubb, it dosnt look like your way is very common either.
Meetup in Punta Arenas tonight - is rarely to read here @

Guess the bikers have their Hotspots on a trip like the Panamericana as an example. They usually meet at hostels and Hotels because not many are travelling mostly by tent - and is willing to cook at evening. So socialicing abroad is not really an big issue.
In the 4x4 many of us are are a bit more self-sufficient. Our vehicles use solar power to run a compressor fridge, a lot of food, steaks, jam, ham, eggs, cold

, we often are able to stay remotely for two weeks. Many of us just rarely go to campsites, hostels or hotels - and didnt meet others while wildcamping.
And then such a App could be nice for socializing to get togeher. To see who is arround. Specially if you are travelling alone.
That we have to share our profile to see other profiles, is for these in younger age common sense - same they did have at most dating plattforms or social media.
Traveler Map is not for dating, but guess that it is easy to find other lonely travellers in the same are that way.
The App offers a lot more than just meet "someone".
Everyone has his profile, photos, text, native language - you see what you get - way more - as at Hubb as example. You see the travel vehicle, links to blogs, and get an idea if you like to meet with the opposite.
You can choose. You cant do the same at Hubb...
Everyone can do what he want - guess at least for us in 4x4 - it is very helpful...
