Himalayan Ride Invitation - June 2024

Hello, I’ve been a long time HU member and a a west Adventure meeting participant and I’m hoping you can help.

I’m looking for 2 reasonably experienced dual sport riders to join us for a bucket list trip (14 nights/15 days) “riding the high mountain roads in the Himalayas on a Royal Enfield Himalayan 410 motorcycle”.

*This is a private tour that I’ve built to include many high mountain passes. *

We have 5 confirmed riders, we are looking for 2 more.

Out of country riding experience is a plus as you’ll be comfortable with plans etc changing as the ride goes along.

FYI, they drive/ride on the Left Hand Side, except when they don’t!

Where: Northern India Ladakh Region "land of high passes", arrive and leave out of New Delhi

Here's a short video to give you a taste of what to expect for riding in the Ladakh area:*

Check out the Gata Loops!

Its 22 hairpins in 10.3km, going from 4190m to 4650m in elevation.

When: We leave New Delhi by train early ‪June 21st‬, and ‪finishes up July 5th‬ back in New Delhi.

Sightseeing activities are proposed for New Delhi before and after the tour, ‪June 20th‬ & ‪July 6th‬, 7th for those interested.

We are arriving ‪on June 19th‬ (~1pm) to give us time to acclimatize and leaving July 8th.

*If interested send email to Guy Scharf (the fellow who convince 4 other riders to join me on this adventure of a lifetime!):

justfishdamit@hotmail.com

Please include a short bio.

*Only reply if super committed to joining us!

I’ll send the info/itinerary package I put together once I receive your email request.

Thanks in advance!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
