Hi Roger, if you want a doss/shower/washing machine in St Andrews and you will be passing through before the 25th Aug you're more than welcome, after that I'm off to South America. Ride safe.

same trip same time
Hi there Christopher I am planning a very similar trip leaving Manchester UK on the 22nd of October and am definetley going as far as India, also hope to take in Nepal and Tibet if possible and if funds allow then I will ship over to Thailand and carry on from there see how far I get. I would like to meet up with you on the way and share a bit of the journey together pm me and I will give you my email address and we can arrange things from there. P.S i think I will be camping along the way as well as Youth Hostels and wherever practical cheapish hotels.
Safe Riding
Regards Billy

So, I got the first quotes in, waiting for some others though. Flying from Germany to BKK from 4700 EUR(Lufthansa, without crate) 1475 EUR all incl, and by sea arround 400 (up to 60 days). But on Friday I go to the airport to check again. Starting mid October. SEA to NZ and AU
I seams there are a lot of people heading the same way at the same time. Funny isnt it? We could all meet up somewhere actually.
dont know if I can post our blog here, is it allowed? anyway its not fully ready ...
cheers, Sascha

Thanks for all the replies!
It's very encouraging to hear so many others planning something similar - I think i'm gonna have to shelf the 'ship the bike to bangkok' plan, keep in touch with those riding overland and go from there! Hopefully this thread will continue to help a few of us on this route to at least cross paths at some point!
Cheers,
Chris

Hi Josef,
Same route but probably a couple of months behind you. Though I think there should be a few others doing this route nearer the time you are. Still keen to find someone/some people to travel iran to india with mid November this year if anyone interested?

Meanwhile we changed our plan a bit. We are going now first to NZ and then all the way back over land. It´s better because of the rain seasons. We will start end of Ocotber going arround in NZ for a while, then January going to BKK up North to Laos, Cambodia, going down south again (... Malaysia, Indonesia, etc..) all the way to Dili over land and then to AU, from there maybe to Katmandu and back to Germany, somehow mid / end next year ... would be nice to have a live map where we all are any given time ... but ...
cheers Sascha and Kerstin

another one
Hi guys,
I see there are lots of you heading a similar route in a similar time. I came down from Berlin, Germany to Instanbul, will stay here for a week or so and then (late sept) continue on through Turkey and Iran. Is there anybody of you around still and interested in a meetup in Istanbul or somewhere down the road?
Wish you all a great trip,
migo

hey guys,
We are currently in Dubai having gone from London to Morocco - to Ukraine - to Iran Via Georgia and we now getting the bike serviced and waiting to get our bike flown to Nepal where we plan to head round India, Nepal maybe try get through burma or round china and continue on to Oz.
We think we will be in Nepal from November for 2 ish months, then India for 3 ish months, we have no real plan or time line. Always open to meet other bikes to ride together or just have a and catch up.
We could get Visas for pakistan as we left the UK over 4 months ago and that meant we would not have made it to the pakistan border in time.
