Crossing into Mexico from US in Sept 2012 and heading South
My husband and I are currently travelling around the USA two up on our Honda Transalp.
We are planning on crossing into Mexico approx mid September 2012 and heading on down to South America. We're looking for some other overlanders to meet up with and travel through some of Mexico and maybe some other parts of Central America.
We've not finalized a route and we have plenty of time so will not be rushing through.

Hi: I'm probably going to cross into Mexico at Eagles Pass the 2nd week of Aug but will be traveling slowly, look for an old (excuse me a more distinguished looking ) guy on a dl650 from Nova Scotia. I'm stopping for Spanish lessons in Guate on my way down. Hope to see you on the way.

Growler - we'll keep our eye out for you. We are also planning on taking some Spanish lessons along the way, have you pre-booked or is it something you can just turn up and book a few days before do you know?
Mikeymoto - maybe see you on the road
Elchen2012 - I'll drop you an email with more info. We're just heading into New Mexico and then heading up to Colarado.
Andy1979 - let us know if you do head down into US and decide to head to Mexico around the same time.
Garrydymond - thanks for the invite, we'll drop you a message when we get down towards you, would be great to get some tips
Happy travels

I've taken Spanish lessons before and the best way is just show up and check out the schools in whatever area your going to take them. I'm going to San Pedro on Lake Atitlan in Guatemala for mine I think, I took Spanish in Antigua and really enjoyed it but want something a little more laid back and out in the country this time. I'll no doubt change my mind 15 times before I get there:confused1:
Cheers Growler with 35 days left till leaving

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
