Continental Divide Ride

Hello fellow HUer’s. I’m planning my big summer ride and the Continental Divide is looking good. I want to do a North to South ride. Take around 10-14 days.
I’m a very experienced rider. 37 years old with 30 years riding under the belt.
I like to camp every few days, but mostly like to get a hotel if possible.
(I do like a cold , hot shower and soft bed at the end of a long days ride).
I’m a quick rider but will be taking my time to enjoy the ride.
Anyone out there thinking the same thing?
Drop me a line and let’s discuss.
Thanks in advance,
Kevin

Continental Divide Ride In July For Me

KPICK -

I have NOT heard back from you; but, as it turns out, I need to cancell my July trip and move it to later in the year. I am currently facing some root canal work on my teeth and need to attend to this immediately and my dentist can only fit me in his schedule in July. Sorry about that.

Hey Kpick:

I am doing the Continental Divide Ride in the month of July. I am in Phoenix, Arizona, and will first go to San Diego, CA. - up the California, Oregon and Washington Coast to Canada then finally East to the start of the Continental Divide Highway in Montana.

Let me know if you are still going to do this ride and when. I do like to camp however. I have the entire route in my mapsource and loaded onto my GPS.

Good riding.

Michael

continental divide ride August

Greetings. Am hoping to do the divide ride from the north as far as central Colorado then hop on the Transam trail to Oregon, leaving sometime in August. Expect to do some camping and some moteling. Have lots of trials and road riding experience, fairly new to dual sport travel. Bad back requires fairly frequent stops so will not be doing any iron butt days. Post reply if you (or anyone else) is still planning this ride and would like company.

Continental Divide Ride

I rode 1600 mi of the CD last year enroute to the Colorado HU meeting. Some pics from that trip are posted n the HUBB at http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/tstories/golub/

I'd be happy to share my take on the good places to stay, eat etc.

It's a great ride that includes a little bit of everything that a rider could ask for.

Talking Great divide trail

Hey John Higgins and others travelling the Great divide in Montana. We live about 15 miles from the divide. We have a spare bedroom or two and room for lot's of tents. I ride some of the two tracks for after work relaxation and some day am going to ride the whole thing.

Putting the call out one more time.
I had two friends back out at the last min.
I'm open for all of Aug, but if going solo I'll leave Mid month.
Would love the company if anyone is up for all or part.
Thanks,
Kevin

Hey Kevin, the forum wouldn't let me post a private reply. Thanks for your reply. I'll give you a call sometime tomorrow. I am still available and interested. I have no GPS info. John

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
