China tour Aug/Sept 2017?

My partner and I are interested in joining a guided tour through China from Mongolia to Laos in August/September 2017. Is anyone part of a group that has already organised a tour that would be willing to have 2 Brits on motorcycles join in with, or is anyone keen to set up a tour from scratch with us?

TIA!

We were thinking of entering from the border at Erenhot, and visiting places such as Xi'an (for the Terracotta Army), Chengdu (Panda breeding and research centre), Tiger Leaping Gorge in Lijiang, etc., and then exit via Mohan border into Laos. We are flexible as to the route inside China, but we'd ideally like to enter and exit at those borders.

Hello Peachy, I am writing from Italy, but my bike is now in Kirghizstan. I will be to Mongolia nex June but I'll leave the bike again in UB untill the beginning of september. Ready to enter China around sep. 10th. I am interested to join you to Laos!!! How many people you are? Did you choose a chinese tour operator? How many days could you spend in China?
Thank you.
Cheers.

Hi Remo!

We were considering around 30 days, as whilst we want to keep a handle on the budget, we would also like to see stuff and not have to rush around too much! We have been speaking to a lady called Nancy, from the company 'China Overland' (info@chinaoverland.eu), and she has already 2 (or maybe 3) vehicles that would like to join a tour at that time, plus my partner and I, so we could already be a group of 4-5 vehicles. Would you be interested in joining us? If you'd like more info, then I'm sure Nancy would go through it all with you as well!

Thanks,
Suzanne

Yes

Hallo Suzanne,
Yes I am interested and thank you for your reply, but, it depend also from the duration: 30 days for me could be too much: it would be better around 25 days from border to border.
And also the perihod: for my work (I asked today about holidays) I could be to Erenhot on september 12th - 14th.
However, I'll write to Nancy and let you know!
Thanks again!
Could you reply my in private? (I don't know how to do)...
Remo

Hi Peachy, Longraider and everyone else

We are also crossing china at the end of august, from the erenhot passage to Laos.

We have an offer from 'China Chengdu Greatway Tour Co., Ltd. (WEITU)' (China Tour) to cross China starting at 5 September for a duration of 20 days.
we are now with a group of 2 vehicles for 5735 EUR/group.
The price for 3 vehicles is 6640 EUR/group and less off course (per vehicle) with more vehicles. Maximum 14 people and 7 vehicles per group
To extend the trip it's 100 EUR/day/group.
Is there any interest in this offer?

JoLo

@Remo

What do you mean 'cross Suzanne'?
12 September is too late to cross China, I think.
All agencies seem to have the plan to cross China before 1 October, because its a Chinese holiday.

Remo
Remo, I have heard from China Overland that they anticipate the dates to be 30 August to 28th September for the crossing, as firstly, as has been said on here, it misses the Chinese National Holiday on 1-10 October. Secondly, being in Mongolia in September, when you're on a motorbike may not be the best idea, as Winter pretty much starts then, and I've heard it can get nasty with no warning whatsoever. Sorry!
