Canada - Ushuaia Sep 2023

Hi all, my name is Mack I am 29 years old and Sep 1, 2023 I am setting off on my DR650 and heading South as far south as I can get.
Looking for a travel partner who would like to accompany me for some or all of the trip.

I want to be semi budget oriented and do a nice mix of hotels/campgrounds.
I am doing this trip over six months and like to stop to take photos.

I have been thinking about the same trip and have been looking for a riding partner. Now, I live in Alaska but have three motorcycles in Missouri and will probably ride my GSA1200 but I can meet you somewhere in the USA.

I am 70 years old and in good health. I have a GS310 here in Anchorage but really don't want to take it down the ALCAN as I have ridden from the US/Mexico border to Alaska and back 3 times. I can still do an Ironbutt if the need arises but prefer going slower. I think we did a couple 500 or 600 mile days last October on a ride from St Louis, Mo. to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia (and return).

I can camp but hotels are really cheap south of the Rio Grande. September is about the time I was thinking of. I will make it to the Canal before deciding if TDF is of interest. Drop me a line at rdnewton3.14@gmail.com or text or call 915 588 5054.

itsOutsider, Welcome to HU!

Be SURE to come to the HU CanWest Travellers Meeting July 13-16 - you'll learn a ton of stuff you really want to know for your trip, and meet people who've done it and can help.

Not so easy to sell a foreign bike in Argentina! Do a lot of research on that here, buying and selling bikes in South America is much discussed.

Yes, we know - but whether it's LEGAL or not is another matter. AND importantly, things change, borders / customs etc get tighter and better documented etc. Just be careful and try hard to sell legally somewhere. Jail sucks.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
