Pedant Alert
Rok-Straps are better than bungees but Sid Vicious didn't sing "Who killed..."; Tenpole Tudor did.

Such knowledge...outstanding!
I can safely say that I have learnt more from this post than any other...ever. Should I wish to take the risk, I have learnt where to buy bits of elastic with hooks on the end, discovered ROK straps, and after all these years realised that more than just Tenpole recorded "Who killed Bambi?".
Matt, I have simply given up searching for adequate arse-scratch cover and find it much simpler and cost-effective to buy in-country. I have done this ever since I lost my six year no-claim discount after forgetting to trim my finger nails one day.
All together now: WHO KILLED BAM-BI!! WHO KILLED BAM-BI!! ... WHO KILLED BAM-BI!!!!!!

I think you have been missinformed, bungees are still widely available. car accessory shops (even Halfords) military suppliers, outdoor shops etc etc

You're right!
Yep, it appears that you are right Moggy, and after all that palaver! It seems that they can be acquired at Halfords at a mere £3.99 per pair. Lesson: Stoke motor accessory retailers are full of shit. Still bleedin' leaving though!

As I wipe a tear from my eye I think fondly of the good old days when we used to play in the woods. Making crued weapons out of bungee cords, golf clubs and anchovies. Ofcourse that was until the day of the accident and Kenny snuffed it....
Why Lord?!? Why did you have to take him from us? With a pickled onion of all things holy?

Hi there,
I make my own bungees with bicycle inner tubes and coat hanger wire, they stretch well, last for ages, nice and long, grip to whatever you tie down and don't get pinched off your bike either.
Cheers

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
