In eastern US all land is private and if you camp on someone's property you may be booted out in the middle of the night by a bunch of slightly drunk well armed rednecks.. discretion advised. It is legit to camp free on National Forest land as long as you don't start fires and there are other opportunities parking lots, etc.. here's a couple good sources/locators

Their Myanmar leg was done mid 2019 and borders have since closed. The tour company they used is Myanmar Senses Family (Zawmin Tun is the contact).
Zawmin advised me last week that the Myanmar/Thailand borders are open but not the Myanmar/India border crossings (the Tamu/Moreh crossing being the most used by the group).
I'm waiting on the Myanmar/India border to reopen then I'll head off RTW from Sydney. Otherwise, if it's going to take forever then I'm looking over the top through China then down into Nepal/India (but that's a pretty expensive option). An alternative is to fly the bike and you from Thailand to Kathmandu.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
