Oldest Man to Circumnavigate the World?
Does anyone know the world's record for the oldest man to Circumnavigate the World by motorcycle? I've ridden for over fifty years and have always had a dream of traveling the world by motorcycle. I am currently 72 and am making plans to accomplish this.

If you have the desire to do it, do it!
Carl Stearns Clancy, not the oldest as you ask, but the first to circumnavigate our planet back in 1913 on a Henderson Motorcycle, 965cc, 4-cylinder motorcycle.
No mobile nor satellite phone, no SOS InReach, no GPS, no... well you get the drift. That was an achievement.
With todays' kit, tech, support etc, and to quote a friend of mine "all you are doing is riding a bike".
What is important is how such a trip would colour your life and how you respond to opportunities you will find on the way.
Bonne chance

I don't know if he holds the record for the oldest, but in 2001, Ted Simon started his second motorcycle journey round the world on a BMW R80GS. (He followed a similar route to his first trip in 1973.) He was about 70 years old that second time, and completed the journey in about three years. His book, Dreaming of Jupiter, published in 2007, recounts this second journey.
You'll find more about Ted Simon on his website, Jupitalia.

Love this. Honestly not sure if there’s a Guinness-certified record for oldest circumnavigation by bike, but you wouldn’t be far off it! You might want to look up Emilio Scotto or Trevor Ware for inspiration — and definitely keep a log if you go for it. Safe travels and keep us posted on your prep!

Thanks for the input
Thank you to all who responded to my post. I am making plans to accomplish the ride within the next three years. Currently I am looking at what type of motorcycle might work and studying routes.
