In Scotland you can wild camp, see my page here, https://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hu...scotland-77073

If you ever do get to the UK, check out independent hostels, see https://independenthostels.co.uk/

Youth hostels are another option, you don't need to be young or walking, you can be ancient and travelling by motorbike. My favourite was Colditz Castle, see https://www.jugendherberge.de/en/you...-698/portrait/

The Italian agritourismos used to be inexpensive but the prices are now sky high, see https://www.agriturismo.it/en/

Netherlands and Germany free camped - just have to be selective where. Look for a place not far off the road (prefrerably NOT private property) that is least likely to upset anyone that does see you. Camp clean (leave no trace), packup early, keep it quiet. Some stunningly awesome camps, including a walking/running trail right in the middle of an alpine German village. Italy hard to find any secluded spots that are not a rubbish tip. Hostel bunk rooms €15-20, but often no good secure spots for an overnight bike. Locks and street lighting! Many good free camp spots in Greece overlooking the Ionian sea
Good writeup!

I mostly do wildcamping in Switzerland, Germany, Italy and France and other parts of europe.

For shure, this getting harder if you like to stay really near to a capital or big city.

Maybee this tipps helps too, also if it is translated ^^

New to Horizons Unlimited?

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
