Route 10/11 Panama
I'm trying to find out if Route10/11 between Almirante and Gualaca, Panama is currently open. I have one source that said it is closed. Google maps states that the section through Reserva Forestal de Fortuna is closed until the end of January. But, there are posts on ioverlander as late as August from people traveling that section of road. I would appreciate if someone has current, up-to-date information regarding this route.

Hi Pewtercheetah
I rode my T7 on this road about 1 month ago. I was riding from the Jaguar Rescue Center in Costa Rica south towards David, and further south.
The road is narrower and in poorer surface condition than most roads South of there. There was a lot of accidents along this stretch, mostly involving larger semi-trailer combos.
I don't know the state of the road today buy there's my input.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB.
