Yeah, get your visas before you leave home.

Cool Original Documents.

And be sure to have originals of the registration/title/insurance documents NOT copies. We made it in but it was a major pain with copies vice originals.

I'll second this. Any time you're traveling internationally with bikes, make sure all the paperwork is in order and triple check with everyone you can. Can save you a lot of trouble in the end.

With the state for U.S. Russia relations, I'm sure Russia will require U.S. citizens to
obtain visas in their home country from the Russian embassy.

I ran into this situation in'08 when the U.S. was supporting Georgia in their internal
conflict.
I was in Poland and had to have a visa service in the U.S. do the work.
Of course I had to ship my passport to the US and wait for it to be shipped back.
Then while in Kazakhstan the Russian embassy refused to issue a multi entry visa
so I could continue to Mongolia and East.

If I was going to Russia now being a U.S. citizen I be very careful in the choices
of social encounters I had with Russians. Basically stay out of bar late at night and
maybe be circumspect about being from the U.S.
There are a lot of really drunk, angry Russian males !

Have Fun, Max

You used to need a letter of invitation for your Visa, so keep that in mind.

Good food, good very cheap and vodka (Have to travel with Priorities) and Moscow has some of the most ridiculous driving/traffic I have ever seen, I honestly would not ride there and I have no problem riding in SE Asia.

Have fun

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
