Hi David. I am planning a lap next year, setting off from Esperance WA at the beginning of April and going to the HUBB meeting in WA, then going ACW around from there.
Southern parts may be slightly cooler then, but not unpleasant.
You can expect rain at any time along the south coast.
But it won't be rain like English rain, there will be plenty of sunny days and a better than even chance of a few frosty nights too.
Tasmania will certainly be the wettest and coldest.
I expect to be over on the northern side June and July, it should be quite human as regards temperatures then.
My planning process is simply to keep the ocean on the right and do my best to stay away from SH1 whenever possible.
I'm going to try and detour to Ayer's Rock and a few other excursions inland, not too sure exactly how or when yet.
Quite a lot of make it up as I go.
How more complicated does it need to get?
