August 1 Update (a little late but close! )
We’ll keep monitoring travel restrictions and local health authority updates right up to the remaining HU events this year: France and South Africa. We post our event status updates on the 1st and 15th of each month.
We strongly recommend that you check with reliable local travel authorities to confirm relevant details. Please follow their directions, especially if you have been travelling and have been trying to return home. For HU events not yet officially postponed, this means the borders within and around Europe and Africa.
Here’s a helpful link (source: Government of Canada):
The following link is intended for Canadians, but you may find it helpful. The “ Entry/Exit Requirements” tab for each country likely applies to all travellers. It also shows when the info for each country was last updated.
OFFICIAL GLOBAL TRAVEL ADVISORY (Government of Canada):
https://travel.gc.ca/travelling/advisories
CURRENT STATUS OF ALL 2020 HU EVENTS:
All event dates are subject to change, so stay tuned. Note that if an event is able to proceed, then we will limit the total event group size according to local health authorities. We aim to announce any event postponements at least TWO months in advance or as best as we can, and unless local governments make a change that forces a cancellation. We will always make decisions with safety of both yourselves and the local Community an absolute first priority.
- HU Bulgaria Mini (August 7-9, 2020): Currently no change, but POSSIBLY POSTPONED – STAY TUNED.
- HU France (Sep 18-20, 2020): Currently a GO - but still POSSIBILITY of POSTPONEMENT (TBC) - STAY TUNED.
- HU South Africa (Nov 5-8, 2020): Currently no change. STAY TUNED.
2021 HU EVENTS:
These events are currently scheduled regardless of the status of the 2020 events. Scheduling next year’s events in advance does not affect the status of this year’s (2020) events. We’re just looking and booking far ahead!
- HU Virginia (April 22-25, 2021)
- HU Germany SUMMER (May 13-16, 2021)

- HU Canwest (July 22-25, 2021): Tie in with the HUMM and make it a Motorcycle WEEK. Come and join us for some GREAT road and off-road riding.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
