Dirty gas in Mexico is a myth started years ago probably by people driving old cars into the country and having their fuel systems plugged up when all their imported sediments got sloshed around and into suspension by the constant crossing of topes ( speed bumps) In scores of trips to every corner of Mexico and Central America these last 26 years on five different bikes, none equiped with an extra fuel filter ,I have never had had any problem, even buying gas from jugs at private vendors. On one of the few trips there in a 13 year old car the filter plugged up , but having it replaced at a garage was fast and cheap. It was old rust from years of use, not Mexican origin. As anywhere, cleanliness while fueling up is important .
