Thanks for the advice Mollydog (and I'll be heading over to read the whole of your DR prep. thread when I manage to find an evening where I don't have to be in bed so early!). Good idea on the EU eBay sites, I had been doing that a while ago knowing that Dual-Sport bikes are more popular on the continent than in this little sport-bike obsessed island. Had forgotten to do it for a while though so I'm back keeping an eye on them.
Been following links wherever I find them, including Beddhist's one (though a long time ago) on here to a German site: aktuell but the specific link is dead though the main page is up. So I've contacted them and am waiting a reply. Can always get one from the US new if push comes to shove though I'll get clobbered over and above the lovely item price when shipping, duty, VAT (on the duty, how dare they!!!) and payment to whoever it is that temporarily pays the customs fees on entry to the country (only heard about that one recently, damn them!)
Already got an Acerbis, came with the bike, though not sure what size it is. Must be either the 3.9 or 4.9 gal one but I need to double check now it's off and drained. Either way, having read about the 6.6 gal mod, seen photos of adapter brackets, got in touch with a guy that 'Lois' on here mentioned used to sell them from Germany, I know it is easily doable and have settled on that as enough to make me feel comfortable in Africa. Wouldn't bother if I was staying here, so off with the old Acerbis, on with the new, and maybe sell the one to help pay for the other ;-)
But thanks again for the tips, will post back how it goes though still hoping someone might have a 2nd hand one lying about somewhere.
