WOW McCrankpin that "No Bankers" was brilliant "No banker left behind"

that was spot on. Perhaps you could post that over on the thread

questioning

if there is an economic crisis or not. My opinion.. there is and as I read the

musical selections posted by that poet Birdy, who , by the way, if he hasn't,

should publish!!! Birdy, thanks you have a lot to say that others would like to

hear. Even if borrowed.

Elisa, who has her PhD in Spanish literature, of course

she is also bi-lingual, was very moved by your last post. As was I.

smacked of Kerouac.

We are now in Galicia, as I write, I am looking at A Coruña from a not so

distant shore. It is interesting to know you were here. The Spanish Coast

Guard was checking crab traps just under my window.

Crystal Gayle - ready for the times to get better - YouTube

Placido Domingo sings Guantanamera Medley - YouTube

My very favorite cover of Amy Winehouse . This Brasileira is good, very good and very young. I am going to make it a point to meet her when I return to B A.

You know I'm no good - Amy Winehouse (cover) - YouTube

I'm afraid it was all Kerouac! It was an homage to the great man, just some of my favourite quotes from 'On the Road,' and 'Dharma Bums.'

My writing nowadays is very similar in style, just nowhere near as stunning in content. I've got some fairly recent pieces on Spain that you might be interested in, if you would like me to send them. I'm looking for erudite feedback at the moment so I can work out how to write up my forthcoming trip.

I'm jealous that you are in Galicia! I love the province, many many fond memories there, even if they do speak a crazy fish language. I want to move back and live there permanently one day.

I too, am of the opinion that there is a world economic crisis, and am convinced that capitalism is dying, if not dead, yet we cling to it like an old dog that you really should put down, but cling to for selfish reasons. Every 'fix' is from short sided people inside the system, you don't get a siamese twin to perform the operation to separate it from itself.

But...the topic...more music..more cowbell.

One Hour and twelve minutes of Sahara Chill

THE DESERT LOUNGE for the next hour and 12 minutes of Desert music, click below...

When I found this, it seemed right to share it...

ENJOY, especially over landers who ride the Sahara and beyond.

Arabic Music "The Desert Lounge I°" - YouTube

Birdy, send it on. we welcome any creative writing, and are scripting several screenplays.... always looking for new ideas.

The "fish language" you speak of is Galego ,

The Basque claim that they are the children of the people of Atlantis. One reason perhaps is that the "Basque" language is an anomaly - without Latin or Greek roots, so perhaps your linguistic analysis is a little west of it's origins. No worries mate my lips are sealed I won't tell Noam Chomsky.

Send e-mail via address on web site below.

Well, what can I say! What an offering!! That's quite something - thanks for sharing. The picture illustrations are fantastic as well.

Nowhere near in comparison, but I'll put in this:
Applecross Bike descent - John Denver Sunshine On My Shoulders - YouTube

A nice ride in the West of Scotland.
I don't mind saying I quite like a lot of John Denver stuff, particularly this piece. It oftens goes through my head during a sunny day on my bike, just like in this video.
I wonder if he wrote anything about the rain?

And here I'd like to offer the best 3 1/2 minutes ever broadcast on any TV network - in the UK anyway.

My qualification to say this is that I was a distribution network engineer for many years on BBC and ITV networks, (and the chief installation engineer for when Channel 4 was introduced) - and I don't care if that's irrelevant or not - this programme made the cables rattle!
This South Bank Show has got to be the best thing those networks ever broadcast and I've never understood why the programme's owner has never brought it out on DVD.

The final 3 1/2 minutes starts 7 minutes in.
You should see links for parts 1, 2 and 3 there somewhere.

Have this as well -

Then there's this:

They court a lot of controversy, this band, about the songs they cover. But I like them.
This one's sometimes credited to Zundel but it's an olde Irish folkesong.

Here:

sung by ex-Girl On A Motorcycle:

And while we're about it:

The Question of the Day.

Another British Jewel from those good old years:

Don't take toooooo much baggage.....

One last from the same era, a bit brighter - makes me laugh anyway:

Bert Weedon

1920 - 2012

In the 50s I spent quite a bit of time in a music shop in Leytonstone. His book fairly flew off the shelves. Could never get the hang of the guitar though, but still have one in the cupboard.....

He's worth another - different style:

Very Nice! - Very Very nice.......

Like that Ribera del Duero, thanks for the reminder, if I'm lucky there's sometimes some in my local supermarket. Will have a look.

Did you get to Aranda de Duero? Another nice Spanish town like all of them wherever wine is grown.

Collective Consciousness Society

Don't know any Turkish. But I look forward to one day returning to Istanbul to meet up with Istanbul Bisiklet Motosiklet! I've read so much good stuff about them here on the HUBB.

Anyway, needed cheering up this morning, and this thread could do with a bump. So I started with this: 81 Years young at the time.

In 1993 he did a similar show at the Barbican in London. Aged 85, still a magnificent entertainer. What a show!!!!!
Wonderful memories.......

Then there's this piece from Eddie and the Hot Rods, introducing some pre-65 motoX

Regular meetings in S.E England.

Moving over to Classical stuff, a bit more - or a lot more, cheering up with this:

Finally, I noticed there was a complete lack of Collective Consciousness on this thread, so here's the Society:

Time for tea - it's just brewed.....
