Seeking help from somebody in Prince George, BC!
As per the title, I need to change my chain and sprockets in Prince George, Honda wants over $200, which is a joke! I do not have the tools for doing the chain. I would hugely appreciate any help that is thrown my way and can repay with a few s or something!

I may not be understanding you correctly, but.... If you've got the tools to do your sprockets and lack only the tools to do your chain, buy a chain breaker (or even easier, have the place you purchase the chain cut it to length and use a universal link).

Personally, I don't travel without a chain breaker. However, I've never carried the large socket and handle required for my front sprocket. Even at home with all tools at hand, it sometimes takes an impact wrench anyway.

Regardless, it doesn't take a Honda dealer to change sprockets and chain--anyone can do it. Look for a small, local bike mechanic and let them know you're on the road and need some help. Assuming you've already got the parts, the job itself is not a big deal.

Don't know if that's helpful, but I hope so.

Yes, in the end I'm gonna have to buy a chain breaker, as it's an investment! And figured like you said if I need help with the front sprocket find a local mechanic... think I was just a little shell shocked at the price and figured I might find someone with the tools on here who lives local!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
