Repost from forum.ExpeditionPortal.com!

Looking to sponsor someone in need of a roof top tent for upcoming trip!

We are interested in providing a roof top tent to someone going on a trip to South America in exchange for photography and updates from the road. Does anyone know of anyone leaving from the US anytime soon? We'd be open to other areas/destinations as well.

Please feel free to have them email me: Beth@tepuitents.com

First post in the 10th of August, so you probably have enough time if you live in the US.

Overland/Bug Out on 4 wheels

Does a 1989 Isuzu Trooper II "Special Edition" qualify for the roof tent you are gifting?

It has a rebuilt engine and drive shaft- all kitted out for overland travel. We usually ride, but the day is approaching when we might have to drive.

Photo of roof tent - where? Can an Isuzu Trooper, which is already a little top heavy and under powered handle a roof tent?

Read again and more carefully. I am not giving away any tent.

There is a contact in the first post where you can drop all your inquiries and see if you are qualified!

I may be wrong, but it has been my experience that the "sponsor" provides the gear and the over lander uses the gear and writes a report or carries the emblem, badges and credentials of the sponsor in order to promote said gear.

I might be wrong, for I have only sponsored Honda NX400 Falcons in South America with the "sponsor", a Buenos Aires Honda dealer, providing the new motorcycle. Over the years I have been directly and indirectly responsible for the purchase of Honda NX400 Falcons.

So if you are not "providing" a tent, what are you doing - once again it is generally accepted that a post by a sponsor includes the details without the reader having to augment the number of visits to any particular site, or having his/her identity grabbed.

Not being as well versed in sponsor/over lander relationships as many, did I say many others who post here, I am simply asking for your bottom line without any smartness or a..ness. To spell it out, what is in it for you and what is in it for the over lander?

Thank you xfiltrate

Helooooooooooo

Literally, I found this piece of information-ad in another travellers' forum and I thought that people in this forum would be interested as well.

This is the reason I reposted it and I mentioned the source & the contact as well.

It is as simple as it sounds. There is nothing for me.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
