was not meantto put the forum down, but it seems that a lot of the info that you have :- re photography permits and many other bits you need to know to stay within a countries laws is removed on a regular basis and is put back up by the person or persons who originally posted.

The INFO i was looking for was on the dafur region of sudan and the border with chad and was it now possible to cross into chad as the last time i was in that region was in in 1983 and back then it was possible but now its ???????

The last time I posted on lonley planet was about 3 years ago, That was when i backpacked around india.


yes they do have good info but lots of the guides are out of date


nothng against lonley planet but lots of usless info but that happens on all the forums.... for backpackers it is a brilliant site.. For RTW motor/ motorcycle travel not so good.

But then everybody wants different things from this

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
