Hi everybody - and a first question

Hi everybody,

Glad I joined today Horizons Unlimited...so much interesting stuff at first glance.

A first question. I have lived for seven and half year in Armenia and I am now back to France. Upon arriving I have discovered that my motorbike license is not accepted by French authorities, save the first year of moving in, and they won't (as for many ex-soviet countries) exchange it for a French license. I guess I have to pass the tests again in France and this is what I am already preparing myself to do. But if anyone has another idea of what to do with it, please let me know.

In the meantime my salutations to all - I am looking forward to meeting nice people who share my passion.

Best,

Christian

Hi Christian,

Welcome to the HUBB

Unless you have proof of previously passing the motorcycle test in France or another country with a reciprocal arrangement with France then you will probably have to do your test again. I had to do re take my motorcycle test when I moved to Canada after riding in Europe for over 20 years, once the examiner realised that I could ride ok the test lasted about 7 minutes!

Good Luck!

Dear Grif,

Thank you for your reply. This is what I have figured. Well I guess what needs to be done, has to be done. So I shall take the test again.

All the best to you and enjoy the next ride,

Christian

Բարեւ, It would be interesting to read any ride reports you may have of travels in Armenia. I visited the country, all too briefly, last year. Wonderful place, shame about the police!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
