Define 'quality'. I've had far fewer issues from my $1600 Yamaha 125 and Chinese 200 than my last GS.
For both bikes that includes tax, title, 1 year free service and 3rd party insurance.
That's despite being stored out in the rain, loaded up with 1 and often 2 passengers and luggage. All on much rougher roads and tougher riding conditions than the GS ever saw.
And they've gone places I'd never have thought of taking the GS.
I get double the fuel mileage (or better if I ride sensibly).
If you define quality as the amount of bling features the manufacturer loads on the bike, maybe they fall short.
Although, the chinabike has some features that make crashing a lot less painless, that were missing from the GS, or expensive add-ons via the aftermarket.
