Changing url's/links

Does anyone know how to change a link/url so I can change the name?

In my signature block I have the link to my Ride reports but they are long winded and wondered if I could shorten them i.e

from this
http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...and-laos-79478

to this
Lonerider in Thailand and Laos

I am on a Mac if it makes a difference

Cheers
Wayne

The bottom line in my signature looks like this...

Access the {url=http://www.morocco-knowledgebase.net/forum/forum.php}{COLOR="Red"}{B}Morocco Knowledgebase{/B}{/COLOR}{/url}

except that in the example above I had to use squigley { and } brackets if order for you to see them properly—you need to change them back to square brackets [ and ].

I'll try it

Squigglies every where
{url=http://www.doesnot.exist.org}{COLOR="Red"}{B}test .. does not exist{/B}{/COLOR}{/url}

And with
{ replaced with [ ... ummm 6 off
} replaced with ] ... ummm 6 off

test .. does not exist

Does that work?

So
{url=http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hubb/ride-tales/lonerider-in-northern-thailand-laos-79478}{COLOR="Red"}{B}Lonerider in Thailand and Laos{/B}{/COLOR}{/url}

becomes
Lonerider in Thailand and Laos

So .. you did something wrong Lonerider. Only convert one url line at a time .. so one line might be Northern Thailand for example.

Can be made simpler by leaving out the color and bold ...
{url=http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hubb/ride-tales/lonerider-in-northern-thailand-laos-79478}Lonerider in Thailand and Laos{/url}
becomes
Lonerider in Thailand and Laos

Not as attractive, but you can see the syntax better .. url declaration followed by the desired text.

Perhaps you could use a spell checker as well...

(hint: rehearsal)

I can spell (... simple things), or I can type ....

Much like riding and navigating... I do like to stop to really navigate. Big cities are not friendly in that stopping to find your way is difficult .. especially on busy roads.

The speel checker I have looks to be some new version of speeling ... apart from things like color ... why not kulor if you going to change it?

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
