Where to change tyre between UK and Japan?
I'll be travelling through Europe to Turkey, then through the Stans, Mongolia and Russia to Japan so I think I'll need to get some dual sport tyres from the Stans onwards. Would Istanbul be the best place to do this?

I'm on a cg125 so I don't know how common dual sports are for this bike.
Will need 2.75 - 18 front and 90/90 - 18 rear.

I'm in Turkey now and there are plenty of bikes around. Everything from scooters to brand new 1200GS. I can't imagine getting tyres would be a problem but I'm not sure if they will be on the shelf so to speak.

Tires for a 125 bike are very easy to get everywere. Dont have to be "sport" tires just take what you get and you will be fine

You are right not many bikes in Georgia or Azerbajian but no problem in Turkey. I had to pay a lot for the 19 front 17 rear for my XR125 and was told 18" were much cheaper and plentiful.

HUBB member "DEAN Rus" (Denis Panferov) sells (or at least he used to) tires all across Russia, and I think some of the Stans as well.

Try and work out how long a tyre will last? then you will have a better idea which country you will need to replace them.
At that point, people maybe be able to advise more than just asking "Where to change tyre between UK and Japan?"

If you are not sure and tyres could be a big problem then buy 2 at the best country before to enter the unknown and carry them on the bike?
That's my best advise for now.

You will be fine.... just take it as it comes and if TYRES are your only problem you have done well.
Its all about the fun sorting out shit along the way.
Ride safe.
Trying to be a BOY SCOUT before you leave will only make you wonder should I do this trip.
I just pack up and go, money will always sort stuff out along the way.
