Yes, I have one in my 790. As far as I can see it's a good filter, and I'll definitely be keeping it for my central Asian trip next year. However if I was only driving in Europe I probably wouldn't bother. For one thing the fuel is always reasonably clean, and for another it makes filling a rather slow process.
The reason for this is that as you add fuel, air needs to come out of the tank. It has to flow out through the filter and as you get near the top this means passing through a reducing area of (wet) filter. This causes a lot of fuel bubbling and foaming in the filler neck, so getting the last couple of litres in takes longer than the previous 18. That's not a big problem if you don't mind underfilling the tank, but if you're doing a long distance to the next gas stop you want the tank brimmed.
