Lightbulb Suzuki DR650 Engine Motor

Hi, I'm looking for a complete engine for my DR650.
It must be in good shape, have electric starter, it's oil cooler, CDI and voltage regulator. I think it should be 1994 or newer.
My name is Luciano, I'm from Argentina and I'm member of "Los Piyus", a 20 motorcyclists friends group, traveling arround the world from 2009.
I'm look forward to read any data about a DR650 engine on sale.
Regards!

Which DR650 are you talking about? MK1 or MK2 (the SE).

Mezo.

Are you talking about the older DR650? pre 1996 (DR650RSE/DR650R) or post 1996 (DR650SE) different bikes.

Mezo.

Suzuki DR650 Engine Motor

Hi Mezo, I'm looking for a Pre 1996, but newer than 1992, in order to get electric starter.
Do you know if an engine from 1996 (Electric starter) will fit in a 1992 (Kick start) frame?
Thanks for your comments.
Regards.

No, nothing from the 1996 and newer engine is compatible with pre 1996 DR650. A '96 and newer motor will NOT fit in a pre '96 frame. It's a really different motor.

Here in the USA we no longer see many Pre 1996 DR's on the road, but they ARE around at breakers (Junque) and on the internet (Ebay Motors).

I've no idea if pre '96 DR was ever sold in Argentina .. it probably was but no idea if there are any around. Call local Suzuki dealer, I'm sure they can help out with info.

Probably fairly RARE to find complete engine ... but don't give up ... maybe you will be lucky! !Suerte!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
