My instinct points toward the rather complicated carb.
Get good mechanic to take it OFF the bike ...

Tank vent?
Also check that the sir vent in the fuel tank cap is working. If it's blocked then the bike will run for a while until there is a partial vacuum in the tank, stopping the flow to the carb. I'm not sure how the vent works in the DR, but I have seen this happen.

whats the sir vent? i'm using ims 20l tank, with key lock cap...

You should be able to measure the rate of fuel flowing into the carburettor.
Take off the float bowel (or drain screw if you have one). Put a container (old ice cream container, PET bottle, anything that fits) under the drain point. Open the petrol cock and time say 2 minutes .. you may need to empty the container into a larger thing. As long as you keep the total quantity of fuel so you can measure it later... The total quantity of fuel that flowed over 2 minutes should be of the order of at least 2 litres ... less than that and you have a problem.
If it passes this test then the fault lies elsewhere .. eg
Blockage inside a carby jet
Electrics (side stand switch, CDI, Coil etc)

but if there is a stop of fuel flow to the carb, the bike would just died off right? unless there is fuel flow, but the quantity not enough to substain to keep the bike from reving?
