Storage bikes in Uganda/Rwanda

Hi folks,

4 years ago drove two bikes from Antwerp to Cape Town, when I could take 6 months off from work. Overthere we parked the bikes for 1,5 yrs.

As it is more difficult now to get extended periods off from work, the idea is to drive the bikes back to Europe in phases.

So phase I was Cape Town - Nelspruit
Phase II last year was Nelspruit - Dar Es Salaam

Now we plan to drive from Dar up to Uganda around June (phase III).

But then we arrive at the question whether someone is ok for us to park the two bikes (2x 600cc bikes) for a while (half a year to one year). If possible inside or otherwise outside under a tarp.

Let me know if you can help or know someone who has place.

Cheers!!
Bart

Hi Guillaume,
Cape Town: family of an ex-colleague
Nelspruit: with a colleague
Dar Es Salaam: family of a colleague

(working for an international company helps... or just hear say or on this forums...)

Hi Parky! Just came across your post, and wondered whether you (or anyone else!) can advise on regulations for me leaving my Namibia-registered motorcycle in Uganda (or Rwanda) for 6 months?

Thanks for any advice

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
