100% on what wanted saui d. They are scum! Just crossed a few hours ago.

I'm on a UK passport. I did what wanted recommended in his west . Printed out the embassy page saying no visa no charge.

I went into immigration first as they directed me too. This os wrong. Customs first.

The immigration, only non uniformed guy wanted 5000 cfa. I explained no visa payment
Showed the paper. They said it was for passport stamp. I stood my ground. Politely, smiling the whole time.

Eventually he just stamped me for 14 days. Id asked for the 10.

Then another guy who had inspected my print out got funny. Telling me that he went to England and had to pay for a visa. That my country had stolen from Africa. That he hated the British. That he hated to see a white man. What do you say? I said I'm not a politician. I didn't do it. I am part of it he said. He then started asking if I'm a spy. If I'm a terrorist. Just giving me a hard time. I felt he was trying for a rise to refuse me

I did my best to just get out if there. Another lady said i had to go to customs first. Then see her (bullsh*t by the way).

Anyway. I managed to get away. Went to customs. I have a carnet. He accepted it, no problems. Stamped it. I went back to the lady. She wanted my TIP. She'd never seen a carnet. Wanted 5000 cfa to stamp it (it was already stamped)

I stood my ground politely. Eventually another guy said it was ok

Now, this guy had the whole time been trying to sell me accommodation. When i left customs i said to him that the guy giving me a hard time was not cool and hihted that was me for his accommodation and this is my introduction to Gambia.

He said no. He joking. Funny guy at border which had been closed for the elections. Anyhow. To keep peace i went back in. Shook hands and pretended i now got the joke.

I went back to customs to double check. He said only him to see the carnet. No money. He said money would be a gift. He was fine. Not corrupt.

I left the border.
