Extending CPD in East Africa

Hi,
Does anyone have any experience in extending CPD in East Africa.
My local Automobil Club told me that this should be possible but they never did this.
BTW I'm from Poland if it helps.

I extended my Oz carnet with the Egyptian AA.

We extended our carnet mid journey, but through the RAC in the UK - who issued our original carnet. But the official carnet provider in Kenya is the AA of Kenya. Google for details. Your automobile association in Poland ought to be able to extend - or issue a new carnet for your onward travels - and courier it to you wherever you are.

We were told not to try to extend a carnet in the southern African countries as it all has to be done through the South African AA which involves a huge hassle. So, not in the SADC countries. We extended - in effect a new carnet - for our onward travels from Kenya onwards through our UK carnet provider (the RAC).

You might try the Malawi AA. I heard that may be possible a few years ago.

We had a ZW 4x4, so we joined the AA in Kenya and got an insurance bond and Carnet from them. Otherwise you can extend it with your original provider and get it DHL'd to you.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
