Storing a motorcycle in Lima or Quito
I'm considering taking a break from my 3+ year South America trip, but I would like to continue in perhaps 3-6 months.
I'm looking for rules and regulations about storing a vehicle in either Lima or Quito. Basically:
1. Where can i store the vehicle?
2. For how long can i store the vehicle (my preference is 3-6 months while I return home and sort out visas, etc)
3. What is the procedure? Eg. Do i visit sunat? What do i need to pay? Etc
4. Is Lima better than Quito for this type of thing? Why or why not?
I can be in Lima (assuming the protests settle down) in 5 weeks. That will leave me with roughly 4 weeks remaining on my visa. I can be in Quito in about 8 weeks, with around 11 weeks left on that visa. The 3-6 months will begin once the vehicle goes into storage.
